Working Together with Local Schools
We have built strong relationships with many of our local primary schools and regularly work alongside their transition-to-school programmes.
Our teachers stay connected with local schools, visit one another and keep up to date with what children need as they begin primary school. This ongoing collaboration helps ensure our programme continues to prepare children for today's learning environments.
A Smooth Transition
By the time our children leave Riverhead Montessori, they have already developed many of the skills that help them thrive in a school environment.
- Reading, writing and early numeracy
- Working independently and completing tasks
- Concentrating for extended periods
- Caring for themselves and their environment
- Following routines and classroom expectations
- Communicating confidently with teachers and peers
- Showing kindness, respect and good manners
These everyday experiences help children step into school feeling capable, confident and ready to learn.
Staying Connected
One of the things we value most is hearing how our children continue to grow after leaving Riverhead Montessori.
Many of our families keep in touch, sharing updates as their children progress through primary school. We also receive regular feedback from local principals and teachers, who tell us that Riverhead Montessori children are recognised for their strong academic foundations, positive social skills and respectful behaviour.
Those relationships continue to help us refine our programme, ensuring each new generation of children is well prepared for the journey ahead.
