Meet Our Wonderful Kaiako

Katie is an experienced Montessori educator with over eight years in early childhood education and more than five years specialising in Montessori. As a 2IC & Curriculum Lead, she works closely with the teaching team to create meaningful learning experiences for every child. Katie is passionate about nature, outdoor learning and helping children grow into confident, independent learners.

Nikita joined Riverhead Montessori after four years teaching in primary schools in Fiji. Her experience, combined with her Montessori training, helps children build the confidence and skills needed for a smooth transition to school. As a mum herself, she values creating warm, trusting relationships where children feel safe, supported and inspired to learn every day.

Originally from China, Ada combines her background in Fine Arts with her passion for Montessori education. She enjoys nurturing children's creativity, curiosity and confidence through meaningful, hands-on learning experiences. Ada values strong relationships with children and families and celebrates every child's unique strengths, culture and individuality.

Usha is a fully registered ECE teacher with over seven years of experience. She is passionate about Montessori and creating an environment where children feel respected, capable and inspired to learn. Usha loves nurturing independence, curiosity and creativity through hands-on learning and nature. She lives nearby with her husband and two children, Tarini and Rudransh, and enjoys reading, baking, playing chess with her daughter and bushwalks with her family.

Zara has over four years' experience working with children through nannying and early childhood education and is currently studying towards her Bachelor of Early Childhood Education. After working with preschool-aged children, she discovered her passion for the under-3 age group. Zara loves supporting our youngest learners with patience, kindness and encouragement, helping them feel safe, confident and valued as they grow.

Gordia-Anne brings over 18 years of early childhood experience and extensive Montessori knowledge to Riverhead Montessori. She supports both Whare Kea and Tui Nest as a relief teacher, Montessori mentor and in-house trainer. Gordia enjoys working alongside children of all ages and believes there is always something to learn from them. Her calm, caring approach and wealth of experience make her a valued member of our teaching team.

As the owner of Riverhead Montessori, Mehak is passionate about creating a nurturing, high-quality environment where children, families and teachers feel genuinely supported. With a background in people leadership and team development, she believes exceptional outcomes for children begin with a happy, valued team. As both a parent and centre owner, Mehak is committed to ensuring every family feels welcome, every child feels they belong, and the Montessori values of independence, curiosity and respect are reflected in everything we do.
